Position: Fabrication Associate

Summary of the Role:
Do you like working with your hands and industrial tools to make things? Do you like to utilize your creativity and mathematical skills to overcome challenges? We are looking for someone who help with the full lifecycle of fabricating custom vinyl covers, curtains, and lifting slings used by the local commercial fishing and Maritime fleets.
Primary Responsibilities
● Must maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures.
● Industrial sewing fabrication - assembling heavy duty vinyl covers, curtains, and lifting slings per instructions using a sewing machine and vinyl welding machines.
● Assembles products to company, customer and manufacturer’s standards.
● Performs other related duties as required as it relates to the full cycle of manufacturering.
Skills and Abilities:
● Possess the ability to interact with team-members in a professional manner.
● Must be able to read a tape measure.
● Experience in basic sewing skills is preferred.
● Must have ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel and use hands and arms to assist in the manufacturing process, cutting & assembly of all manufacturing materials for an 8 hour shift
● Requires a basic proficiency in math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in units of measure. Additionally, must be able to perform calculations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
● Basic mechanical skills including the use of hand tools.
● Ability to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 50 pounds.
● Basic computer skills including; MS Word, Excel, internet and email.
Qualifications:
● 1-2 years of warehousing or production experience in an industrial setting - experience in sewing tarps/awnings or upholstery preferred
● Experience on sewing machines preferred, but not required
● We will train if you have an open mind, aptitude, and desire to learn
● A high school diploma or equivalent are required.
