Room Attendant

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, the Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining and cleaning guest rooms. Room Attendants must maintain and clean guest rooms according to the standards of the hotel.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School diploma or its equivalent

Experience: Minimum 1-year Room Attendant experience, preferable at a luxury hotel

Excellent organizational skills.

Possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor.

Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork.

Creative, effective leader and team player, possessing a high degree of professionalism, sound human resources management principles, communication, administrative skills and the ability to make sound and timely business decisions.

Results oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure.

Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Ability to work a flexible schedule: weekends, holidays, AM, PM, overnight and overtime when needed.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must have excellent communication skills. Must be able to receive instructions and make reports with accuracy.

Must be knowledgeable about applicable laws regarding the operation of hotels and restaurants.

Must have great attention to detail and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Manage the master key for the assigned floor.

Enter guest rooms according to protocol.

Clean guest rooms and bathrooms according to hotel standards.

Inform customers on how to use guest room items if requested.

Inspect equipment and fixtures in guest rooms. If there is any damage, submit a repair request.

Turndown the guest rooms.

Inspect cleaning equipment. If there is any damage, submit a repair request.

Organize the Room Attendant cart. Prepare an adequate supply of guest room items and equipment.

Collect and make use of guest preference data.

Identify any noteworthy matters of a guest and, if necessary, report to a senior employee.

Report on, and attend to, customer requests.

Report any suspicious persons seen on guest floors.

Receive and attend to any complaints and requests from customers.

Attend all training sessions as a trainee according to the company’s training policies and the requests of senior employees responsible for the training.

Follow the company's brand standards and code of business conduct.

Keep informed of the company's values and ideal conduct. Act accordingly.

Pursue the operational goal by carrying out all assignments tasked by a senior employee.

Attend necessary training sessions as required by a training manager in accordance with any training plans.

Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments.

Adhere to hotel grooming standards at all times.

Lead with passion and enthusiasm with a commitment to excellence and a creative approach

Dedicated to creating personalized experiences and lasting memories for our guests.

Follow department policies, procedures, and service standards.

Follow all safety policies.

Oversee for cleanliness, organization, and housekeeping/maintenance standards.

Stand for an extended period or for an entire work shift.

Other duties as assigned.

Adhere to cash handling policies and procedures stipulated in the Cashier Bank Contract.

Ensure uniform, nametags, and personal appearance are clean, hygienic, professional and in compliance with company policies and procedures.

Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
