DESCRIPTION
Client Engineering team is part of the AWS Infrastructure group that owns all the System, Network and Application infrastructure globally for Amazon Corporate and AWS. We build complex multi-platform solutions that help our customers get more done, improve Amazon's security posture and manage a large fleet of laptops and desktops. We are in search of a leader who will play a key role in performance tuning of client computing at Amazon. You will have the opportunity to design and develop services that are performant, secure and enhance Amazon's ability to manage our client fleet of multiple hundreds of thousands of devices. Your passion for hands on work, problem solving, performance tuning, team work, and mentorship will enable you to flourish as a leader and owner at Amazon. This exciting and high impact role will involve working with a wide range of other technical and business groups within Amazon. This role includes but is not limited to- Performance profiling of self-service applications
- Build and influence building services that are secure as well as performant
- Build software to enable the adoption of AWS cloud based user applications.
- Design and build scalable reporting, capacity management, and dashboard platform.
- Make technology decisions that meet business challenges while balancing long term and short term needs.
- Deep dive on existing technical issues and provide comprehensive solutions.
- Work closely with multiple teams to achieve technical targets.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant degree
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Endpoint client applications performance profiling
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large scale Infrastructure
- 7+ years of professional software development experience
- Exposure to various client performance profiling frameworks/tools
- Familiarity with Grafana, SysTrack, Splunk etc
- Exposure to OS level internal tools such as perfmon, Procmon or xperf etc
- In-dept knowledge of hot spot identification in code
- 4+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as C#, Java, C, Swift including object-oriented design
- 3+ years of experience with UX/UI technologies and frameworks
- 4+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current system
- Experience in defining and implementing automation opportunities within an operational environment
- Experience in agile management methodologies
- Familiarity to work On Windows, Mac & Ubuntu platforms
- Solid software development background including design patterns, data structures, test driven development
- Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational & NoSQL databases
- Exposure to a breadth of projects on UI and server side
- Experience developing endpoint client software and an understanding of design for scalability, performance and reliability.
- Analytical abilities and design skills.
- Experience developing and publishing SOA (service oriented architecture) applications
- Experience with fleet provisioning and configuration management at scale
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline build processes.
- Experience building services using AWS products.
- Experience working in a high pace DevOps mindset culture.
- Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role
- Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
