TITLE: Ticketing & Membership Associate (WildLanterns, Temporary)

SALARY & FLSA: $20.00 per hour/year; FLSA non-exempt

This position will average 20-25 hours per week. Shifts will range from starting at 3:30 pm to ending at 9:00pm and will be an average of 4 to 5 hours long. This position will end on 1/19/2025.

As our new seasonal Ticketing & Membership Associate, we know you will be successful in this role because you are:

Flexibility: You welcome role variety so you may have back-to-back shifts running the carousel to greeting guests at fee-based exhibit.

Cash Handling: Balancing your register at the end of the day is easy as you take care to properly receipt your credit and cash transactions.

Guest Experience: You relish in the opportunity to make the first and last guest interaction that is memorable and makes them want to plan their next visit to the zoo.

Positive Attitude: You love the hustle and bustle of a boisterous crowd, offer options to resolve frustrations, and are happy to answer the same inquiries again and again with a smile.

YOUR PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sell zoo membership, general admission, and promote zoo products and experiences

Handle various payment types, operate cash registers, point of sale terminals, and maintain a cash drawer.

Expedite visitor entry, establish queuing lines, and help with crowd control in a customer friendly manner (i.e. carousel)

Provide customer service information and assistance to the public and staff in person or on the phone including: general information, educational/interpretive programs, and special events.

Ensure a safe environment for visitors, staff, and volunteers; monitor key areas and entrances and report safety concerns to supervisor in a timely manner.

Set-up, organize, arrange, and maintain any necessary equipment or program items.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and one (1) or more years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Demonstrated good cash handling skills.

Successful applicants must live and work in Washington State to perform this role.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
