The Buildings and Connected Systems Group at PNNL analyzes, models, and deploys integrated grid-interactive efficient building technologies in support of the energy transition. We provide transparent, reproducible, and unbiased results to guide policy and technological innovation.ResponsibilitiesThe Buildings and Connected Systems Group at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is looking for a graduate student with background in building or power systems who has an interest in integrated multi-domain simulation, data analytics and visualization, and software development for grid-interactive efficient buildings (GEB). This student will be mentored by research engineers with rich industry and research experiences.Perform data analysis and visualization of simulation data from large scale co-simulations

Contribute to python-based post-processing software capabilities and open-source system simulation tools

Communicate simulation results in clear and compelling manner.

Work productively in multi-disciplinary teams

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Candidates must be matriculated/enrolled in a Master's program at an accredited college or university.

Minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.

Preferred Qualifications:Graduate student, pursuing a degree in Mechanical/Mathematics/Electrical Engineering/Computer Science

A strong background in Python, data analytics, and visualization. Good communication skills (written and spoken)

Experience with data analysis and visualization Python packages such as Pandas, MatPlotLib, etc

Familiarity with modern software development practices and tools (git, Github, etc)

Experience with simulation in power or building systems

GPA ≥ 3.40
