- The Apex team provides specialized lab support and maintenance for electrical and mechanical tools (including cleanroom equipment, wafer equipment, characterization equipment, scanning electron microscopes, chemical cabinets, lift stations, and other specialized and custom research tools), equipment (including electronic), circuit boards, prototypes, VR hardware, their troubleshooting, repairs, debugging, assembling, testing, component sourcing. The work also includes gas cylinder services, from managing on-site inventories to swapping gas cylinders.
- The team maintains stock of all raw materials, consumables and materials currently on hand, keeping inventory, and ordering new materials as needed and preparing stock for ongoing projects. Developing and documenting processes and improvement for preventative maintenance, ensuring assets management systems are updated.
- Apex performs regular quality checks and safety inspections, including, routine equipment such as eyewash, safety showers and fume hoods. We Develop solutions and recommendation for maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs. Manage lab tool emergencies, coordinate repairs with third party vendors, and existing facilities. Our team Collaborates cross-functionally with teams to ensure compliance and meets with end users regularly to discuss requests that may need support.
- Manage cleanroom supplies with vendors, provide gloves, safety glasses, chemistry supplies, cleaning supplies, chem lab supplies and organization, etc.
- Manage garment suppliers, garment stock, and laundering service.
- Perform cleanroom wipe-downs based on agreed upon scope with lab users.
- Perform weekly inventory checks for tools, hardware, and consumables.
- Compile procurement list for inventory restock and project materials.
- Ensure daily workbench cleanliness and space functionality.
- Organize tools, hardware, and consumables and reset labs based off agreed upon scope.
- Organize cables, projects, boxes, etc. within the lab space.
- Support shipping, receiving, palletizing, or uncrating requests as needed.
- Ensure safety compliance within labs by preventing daisy chaining, covering or removing tripping hazards, ensuring there is a means of egress, etc.
- Ensure all tool and equipment storage drawers are labeled and up to date.
- Coordinate lab services such as offsite storage, rigging request, vendor management, ordering supplies, equipment installation/decommission and lab tours.
- Perform twice-a-week walk-throughs to ensure labs are up to par from an aesthetics and functionality perspective, notify proper teams if noncompliant action items are identified.
- Coordinator or Lab Manager to identify action items and future projects.
- Take measurements and support test fits.
- Provide hands-on support for lab reconfigurations.
- Raise lab standards by freeing up space, eliminating clutter, and optimizing space and functionality.
- Provide recommendations for tools, hardware, and consumables based on lab needs.
- Sync with end users regularly to discuss requests and projects that may need support.
- Assist with light equipment installs and furniture assembly.
- Assist with light equipment moves.
- Assist with installing and decommissioning equipment.
- Perform light preventative maintenance for select equipment and repair issues such as air leaks, plumbing issues, etc.
