Summary of Position:The Senior Audio-Visual Technician is responsible for setting up, installing, operating, testing, and troubleshooting audio and video equipment within a corporate environment.

Essential Functions:
  • Lead medium to large room/location setups from start to finish
  • Operate AV equipment in a live show setting
  • Work with the design team to clarify
  • Set up, operate, maintain and repair audio/visual equipment for live events, such as microphones, video recorders, projectors, lighting, and sound equipment
  • Set up and operate sound equipment
  • Set up and operate spotlights
  • Confer with the meeting or concert director to establish cues and directions
  • Create and install custom lighting systems
  • Monitor sound feeds to ensure quality
  • Ensure equipment is installed according to the designated layout
  • Test and resolve equipment issues
  • Diagnose and correct media system problems
  • Mix sound inputs and feeds
  • Coordinate audio feeds with television images
  • Send in equipment for repairs as needed
  • Switch video input sources from one camera to another
  • Determine filming sequences and camera movements
  • Clean audio and video equipment and store properly
  • Ensure equipment for the safe transfer and shipment of equipment
  • Compress and digitize audio and video data
  • Ensure the safe storage and integrity of data
  • Work with computer-controlled lighting systems
  • Duplicate audio and video data
  • Turn ideas into outlines, storyboards, and images
  • Maintain inventory of equipment
  • Collaborate with, and assist both IT and facilities teams in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future AV and video technology needs
  • Conduct research on, and make recommendations for, AV products in support of courthouse and development efforts; assist with its installation
  • Works with the IT Procurement Specialist to procure any new AV or video equipment and inspects and verifies all AV and video deliverables upon receipt
  • Act as a consultant for video conferencing issues
  • Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of statewide AV and video needs, including electronic docket monitors
  • Receive and respond to incoming calls, texts, and/or emails regarding AV and video hardware/software issues
  • Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for AV and video administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery
  • Travel throughout the state of Washington is required at times, not to exceed 50% of the time
  • Attend meetings and training as required
  • Responsible for accountability for other employees, volunteers, or interns
  • Plan’s, directs and coordinates activities for a unit. Duties may include scheduling and assigning of work, training in all facets of work, quality control, and assists in making decisions impacting the pay, status, and tenure of others

  • Work Environment:This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

    Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee in this position frequently communicates with other co-workers/clients who have inquiries about the various projects and other needs. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. The employee in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operate a computer and office machinery such as a calculator, keyboard, copy machine, and printer. Frequently moves boxes with equipment weighing up to 25lbs across the building and/or to other offsite buildings for various project needs.

    Required Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
    • 10+ years of experience

    Qualifications:
    • 10+ years in live event production
    • Signal Flow (audio and video)
    • Yamaha QL1
    • Shure Axient Wireless Audio Systems,
    • Mic routing on-premises and off-premises
    • Dante
    • Crestron
    • Christie / Mystique (projection mapping)
    • Troubleshooting IP based AV technologies
    • Cisco Conferencing AV equipment
    • Administrating Webex, Zoom, & Teams
    • Production Wizard
    • Live event Audio Visual experience, preferred
    • Knowledge of camera and lighting techniques is essential and familiarity with editing equipment and software may be required
    • Must be proficient with computer systems used in multimedia production, employers require word processing skills
    • Must be able to sit and stand for long periods and have good hearing and eyesight
    • A high degree of demonstrated customer service and hospitality skills. This always includes a heightened sense of customer focus to include the AV team as well as internal and external clients
    • Flexibility to accommodate a changing work schedule and/or business needs at other client properties as necessary
    • Ability to set an example for professional grooming and presentation standards as required
    • Ability to work varied and changing schedule (nights, weekends, early mornings included)
