We’re seeking an excellent communicator with strong customer service skills to join us in supporting our vibrant and diverse agency in its mission, to work as part of a cohesive team, and to uphold a professional and positive demeanor while working under tight deadlines as priorities shift. The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Information Technology Division is recruiting for a Customer Support Journey. This position also provides expert IT service and support to internal and external customers. Responsible for ensuring desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated networked components including file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers and administrative systems. Computers are mission critical to getting the work done. Proactively managing and protecting those computers minimizes downtime for the DNR staff member. This position also provides expert IT service and support to internal and external customers with mobile device management administration includes working with WA Tech, choosing appropriate settings, creating custom device groups within a WA Tech managed software system, and applying those settings to all agency wifi enabled smart phones and tablets. Troubleshooting mobile devices and customers in support of their daily mission critical decision making.

Please Note: This position has the flexibility to work remotely part-time, however it will be required to work in the office at least two days a week. The duty station is in Olympia, Washington and the successful candidate must agree to travel to the office for in office rotations, key scheduled meetings or as operational needs dictate. Details of teleworking considerations will be addressed during the interview process.

Responsibilities:
  • Primary technical support of desktop and laptop computers
  • Mobile IT Device Management
  • Microsoft System Service Center administration and support
  • Rotating duty as Service Desk Point of Contact
  • Lifecycle management of agency inventory of desktop and laptop computers.

Required Qualifications:
  • 4 years desktop support experience including hard drives, video and network adapters and disparate network configurations. Experience must be in an enterprise environment of 100 workstations or more.
  • 4 years of experience maintaining, troubleshooting MS Office 2013 or newer and Windows 7 or newer operating systems.
  • 4 years of experience configuring mobile device management systems including the following functionality: security, updating, application management, and process development. Also, experience troubleshooting Android and Apple devices.
  • Must pass fingerprint and background check due to exposure to law enforcement and sensitive data.

Desired Qualifications:
  • MCSE Mobility.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar.
