Find your future with us.Boeing Commercial Airplanes Product Development Systems Engineering organization is seeking Experienced Engineers for our Everett, WA location to support designing future new and derivative airplanes and production systems.As part of this team you will have a key role in developing the total lifecycle of the next new airplane from how it is designed, built, delivered and supported in service. We are rapidly connecting the present and the future to make the world better.Position Responsibilities:As a Systems Engineer in Product Development, you will evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces for the airplane and production system. Digital Engineering and Model Based Systems Engineering will be a key focus in these activities. The ability to work in a collaborative team environment across sites and engineering disciplines to support and execute challenging tasks in a multi-disciplinary environment will be imperative to this on-site role. The selected individuals will work in a fast paced, innovative environment where excellent technical, organizational, leadership, written and verbal communications skills are essential.Responsibilities include systems architecture development & decomposition, requirements definition, concept of operations, model based systems engineering (MBSE), validation and verification, development assurance, safety analysis, and systems integration.The selected applicant will be a member of a high performing, collaborative team and must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, excellent time-management, and interpersonal skills. The applicant will have the ability to work effectively with a diverse engineering team. These teams use Agile methodologies to support all aspects of product development, including project management. The applicant will be encouraged to actively help the team to continuously improve and develop innovative and creative solutions to products and processes.Job responsibilities may include:Apply interdisciplinary, collaborative approaches to plan, coordinate, design, develop and verify complex systems solutions

Engage with leads and teammates across a wide variety of engineering disciplines

Use Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools to develop systems engineering product such as requirements decomposition, system architecture; specifications, systems engineering and program plans, interfaces, risk assessment and mitigation, validation and verification planning, overall integration, etc.

Define and verify systems requirements and interfaces

Support system-level concept of operations (CONOPS) development, functional analysis and decomposition

Develop use cases and sequence diagrams

Develop a tops down approach to functional architecture in alignment with industry best practices for development assurance (ARP4754, ARP4761)

Interface with Safety Engineering to capture functions for use in Functional Hazard Assessments (FHAs), and other safety analyses

Perform system-level integration and validation

Develop systems which are satisfactory to regulatory authorities (FAA, EASA, etc)

Support trade studies

Operate independently with general direction and in a team environment.

Basic (Required) Qualifications:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

10+ years of experience in Systems Engineering in the Aerospace and/or Automotive industry

Preferred Qualifications:Expertise in one or more of the following systems engineering capabilities/skills

Experience in systems design and/or systems analysis and/or systems integration

Systems Engineering experience in fundamentals like requirements validation/verification, functional integration, NxN, Phase A/B/C, and Concept of Operations

Experience with aerospace systems engineering together with the ability to visualize how information technology opportunities might be used to further the goals of the organization

Experience with system safety analysis and guidelines such as ARP4761, ARP4754

Experience with DO-254, DO-178

Experience using Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS – IBM)

Experience in applying Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes and principles in the design of airplane and production systems

Experience with MBSE tools and languages (such as SysML “Systems Modeling Language”) is a strong plus, e.g. Cameo

Experience in using Agile best practices through Azure Dev Ops (ADO)

Experience leading cross functional teams and complex projects

Experience working effectively with diverse engineering teams
