Software Design Engineer Other Area(s) Stafford , VirginiaFull-TimeApr 19, 2021Job Summary: Digital Cloak is seeking a Software Design Engineer who will be responsible for engineering, developing, and maintaining software applications, tools, and technical solutions in support of government clients. This individual will assist with the development of a complex web application on a small, dynamic team. The successful candidate will possess strong analytic and problem-solving skills and will be expected to work on multiple layers of the application. The individual will predominantly work client-side, but must possess a clear understanding of the client-server nature of web design and be able to identify the best layer at which to implement a solution. The Software Design Engineer must be self-motivated, able to complete tasks in a timely manner, and able to work independently and creatively with minimal supervision while also working effectively as part of a team. Essential Functions:

• Develops and maintains a cross-browser compatible, responsive web application utilizing ASP .NET MVC 5.
• Develops and applies advanced methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced software applications and problems
• Plans, conducts, and technically directs projects or major phases of significant projects, and coordinates the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects
• Conducts investigations and tests of considerable complexity
• Reviews completion and implementation of technical products
• Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services
• Maintains currency with trends in web development

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 4+ years' experience using C#
• 3+ years' experience with ASP.NET MVC and WebAPI
• 1+ years' experience with any of the front-end libraries (e.g. Knockout, Angular JS, or similar)
• OR any equivalent combination of education and experience

• This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) more than half the time
• This position requires the ability to spend more than half the time viewing computer monitors

• US Citizenship is required
• The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance. Active DoD Security Clearance (Secret or higher) strongly preferred.

• This position has travel requirements up to 10%
