ONLY Holder and s Required, No C2CJob Description/Responsibility:The primary goal of the Telecommunications Technician is to provide installation and maintenance support for Client’s telecommunications infrastructure including single mode fiber optic cable, microwave radio systems, transport routers, and DC systems. This equipment is located in the Company’s Virginia and North Carolina service territories. In addition to “normal” daily work, this position will be part of a team that provides 24x7 field support, at the direction of the Network Operations Center (NOC), for communication outages.Will be required to drive their own vehicle. Will be reimbursed for mileage. Top Skills Required:• Detailed knowledge and hands on experience with single mode fiber optic cable, fusion splicing, and installation best practices.• Skilled in the installation of telecommunications equipment including running power leads, installing fuse panels, cable management, fiber management, cable terminations, and grounding• Knowledge of grounding practices for communication buildings and antenna support structures.• Working knowledge of 48v DC power systems is required.• Detailed knowledge and hands on experience with channel banks/multiplexers. Nice to Haves:• Skilled in single mode fiber testing with a light meter and/or OTDR.• Skilled in the support, installation, and testing of microwave radio systems, elliptical waveguide, microwave antennas, and the necessary grounding for each component. Other Skills Needed:• Basic understanding of data networking.• Must be safety conscious and detailed oriented.• Effective computer skills including knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Products to include Visio, Power Point, Excel, Word, and Outlook.• Demonstrate technical documentation skills as needed.• Small project leadership experience.• Good oral and written communication skills.• Analytical, abstract thinking and problem-solving skills.• Work effectively within a team environment.• Willing to adhere to established best practices, standards, change management policies and procedures.• Flexibility to adapt to changing workflow.
