About the Opportunity Our ITS Operations Management team has an immediate opening for an IT Asset Management Specialist at the Intermediate level, reporting to the IT Business Support Services Manager. In this critical and fast paced role, you will provide technical support and guidance on IT asset management compliance issues, and field requests and questions regarding the procurement, tracking, and disposal/harvesting of IT hardware and software assets. You will use a variety of system tools to process hardware and software purchase requests, manage department assets, and handle a high volume of customer inquiries. What You Will Do:

  • Manage and track IT hardware and software purchases.
  • Mitigate risks within hardware and software environments by maintaining compliance with System ITAM Standards.
  • Coordinate the collection, storage, and disposal of surplus equipment.
  • Rationalize and align software usage and agreements with System guidelines.
  • Manage automation tools (Fifth District Service Catalog, Department SharePoint Sites) used to process customers' requests.
  • Coordinate and perform annual inventories for IT related assets.
  • Process monthly PC inventory journal entries.
  • Distribute communications to business areas as directed or instructed by IT.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures.
  • Participate on committees and workgroups.
  • Participate in quarterly Office Automation Department Contact (OADC) meetings.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's/Bachelor's Degree or Technical Institute Degree/Certificate in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 years of experience in asset management or work-related environment.
  • Thorough understanding of the software industry, contracts, license management and agreements.
  • Software install experience preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and SharePoint skills.
  • Excellent communication, telephone, and customer service skills with the ability to work with peers, management, and customers.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong desire to help others, resolve problems, and work in a team environment.
  • May require travel to attend training classes or participate in special efforts
  • Extended hours may be required approximately 1-5 days per month to meet service deadlines. Occasional shift changes may be required to meet customer service requirements.

  • The hiring range for the IT Asset Management Specialist - Intermediate is $54,600 - $68,200 annually.
