The Leidos Innovations Center has an exciting opening for you, our next Senior Software Engineer , to assist with the implementation of a state-of-the-art technology stack supporting our expanding and developing NMEC DOMEX Data Discovery Platform (D3P) program in Bethesda, MD or Reston, VA . Our next Senior Software Engineer will be working with other developers, software architects and system engineers to deliver and maintain a robust software platform, focusing on design, development and integration of a full stack containerized microservices architecture. We would like to see you participate in fostering DevOpsSec processes while building strong cross functional collaboration with all areas of development, test and deployment in a dynamic and fast paced environment in support of intelligence community analysts whose mission is to solve unique and challenging problems.

You will work closely with the chief architect, systems engineers, software and data engineers, and system administrators on the following key tasks: • Work with our engineering and infrastructure teams to design and implement high-availability, high-performance big data ingestion and discovery systems• Design, develop and maintain framework components and libraries• Coordinate with D3P teams to prioritize product backlogs for Sprints and releases• Assist with monitoring & reporting technical variances; facilitate resolution of technical issues that adversely impact successful product delivery• Assist with identifying and supporting external dependencies where needed

This is you: • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or related technical field with 12+ years in software engineering or 4 years of additional years of experience in lieu of degree• Must have an active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance• Expertise with developing on-premise and cloud big data applications in Python and/or Java• Expertise with Microservices architecture development in native and hybrid cloud environments, to include enabling technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes• Experience with software configuration management tools such as Git/Gitlab• Experience with Apache Kafka, Apache Pulsar, RabbitMQ or other messaging technologies• Experience with REST APIs and web services• Experience with Elasticsearch • Experience with databases (Relational and NoSQL)• Experience working with Linux operating systems• Experience with big data technologies including Hadoop, HDFS, and Spark• Experience with object storage APIs (Amazon S3, Pure, etc) • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to collaborate with customer representatives, domain experts, systems engineers and architects• Ability to work well/collaborate with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience• Demonstrated ability to participate in cross-functional planning, coordination, and task execution situations involving the full spectrum of system integration activities

You will wow us even more, if you have these skills: • Master's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or related technical field• Experience with big data storage technologies including HDD, SDD, and Amazon S3• Experience with experience with load balancers such as Apache, Nginx, HAProxy• Experience with system performance tuning and optimization• Experience with data engineering and ETL• Experience with Jira, Confluence and Agile/SAFe software development• Experience with DevSecOps in Intelligence Community or other government agencies• Experience with software development environments and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Nexus • Experience with configuration management tools such as Salt or Ansible• Experience working in classified development environment, to include security engineering best practices• Strong knowledge of networking and internet protocols• Detailed oriented/self-motivated with the ability to learn and deploy new technology quickly
