Our Major Financial Client is looking for a Database Administrator.

Technical Must Haves: SQL Server Database Admin, with a focus on clustering and high availability.

Soft Skill Must Haves: Excellent communication, leadership, team player.

Desired Skills:

Experience supporting Sybase database platform under Unix/Linux platforms

Experience with Unix/Linux OS platform and Unix Shell/Perl scripting

Experience with Database monitoring tools such as Foglight

Good understanding of other Microsoft products such SSRS and SSAS

Experience working in virtual environment using VMware

Database performance tuning skills

Database vendor certification

Basic Requirements:

More than 7 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server using 2005/2008/2012/2014

Solid understanding of Database technology - MS SQL Server and Sybase/or any DB platform

Solid Database performance tuning

Deep knowledge of industry-standard, enterprise-class best practices for a large database environment

Good understanding of windows platform and SQL 2008,2012

Deep understanding of HA, DR Database and storage technologies like Data replication, SRDF/non-SRDF

Experience with Solaris, Linux and Windows platforms

responsibilities:

Provide Database Engineering support on all aspects of Microsoft SQL Server including administration, backup/recovery, replication, deployment and real time production troubleshooting responsibilities on MS SQL Server 2008/2008R2/2012/2014 DB environments.

Install, configure, monitor, upgrade and maintain database in production and non-production environments

Diagnose and address database performance issues using performance monitors and SQL profiler

Interact with Windows administrators on Windows server operating systems issues related to Databases

Maintain internal database maintenance script written in PowerShell and Batch scripts

Configure and maintain 'Always-on' features for Database High availability

Support data replication using SQL replication for reporting database environments

Troubleshoot database production problems and database connectivity issues

Implement HA and DR solutions using Windows clustering, Always-On and SRDF/SRM solutions

Ability to work well as a team and as an individual with minimal supervision

qualifications:

Experience level: Experienced
Minimum 7 years of experience
Education: Bachelors

SQL Server (7 years of experience is preferred)
