Job Description

The Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) Enterprise Engineering Systems Engineer is a member of the Navy Warfare Development Command's (NWDC) Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Enterprise Engineering Division (EED) engineering staff in support of the NCTE. The NWDC EED team provides enterprise architecture, standards, and research and development for development of engineering solution for the NCTE in support of US Fleet Forces (USFF) and the Number Fleet Commanders' training and certification requirements. USFF and the Numbered Fleet Commanders conduct synthetic training and mission certification events between pier side ships, virtual trainers and training centers during Fleet Synthetic Training (FST) events. The NCTE EED Systems Engineer supports NCTE R&D systems including enterprise systems development, server administration, site application support, testing and software installations, and virtual systems support, for all information technology research and development projects.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Advanced Technical Certifications including knowledge of virtualization, networking, storage and compute server platforms. • Experience with Microsoft Exchange 2013 • Experience with Windows Servers 2008/2012 and Windows 10 • Experience with Department of Defense Security Technical Implementation Guidelines • Strong technical troubleshooting skills • Ability to read and digest technical information • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues within multiple systems • Ability to visualize overall view of systems and conceptualize and document creative solutions • Strong attention to detail • Strong customer focus, including the ability to manage customer needs and multiple work priorities • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills • Experience with VMware technologies a plus • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret clearance.

Minimum Qualifications

5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.Work experience may be adjusted based on education, or highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.
