Job Description

The Senior C4I System Administrator will be supporting the Air Force Live Mission Operations Network (LMON). The candidate selected must have excellent knowledge in general systems engineering and network architectures as well as experience with P5 Combat Training System /Tactical Combat Training System (CTS/TCTS).Under general supervision, the candidate will be responsible for the continuous operation of C4I servers, workstations and related infrastructure supporting integrated Air Force LMON C4I systems.The candidate will be part of a team that performs system engineering, system integration, hardware and software support, and technical and administrative support services for C4I systems within the Air Force Live Mission Operations Network (LMON). The candidate provides IT support for engineering, integration, support and system administration services for a variety of Program of Record (POR) and C4I systems and applications. Knowledge in P5 Combat Training System /Tactical Combat Training System (CTS/TCTS) is required. Candidate will provide IT services for engineering and support baselines, installation services, software support services, system administration services.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

Minimum Qualifications

6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.

Preferred Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or related discipline and 5-7 years of experience, or equivalent education and experience. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 9 years of applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted based on education, or highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.
  • Experience installing, configuring and administering P5 Combat Training System /Tactical Combat Training System (CTS/TCTS)
  • Knowledge of existing C4I communications systems
  • Preferred - Experience administering other C4I systems and applications such as TCTS, Multi Source Correlator Tracker (MSCT) and ICADS
  • Experience in System Administration of Solaris, Windows 10 and Linux (RHEL) systems in virtualized (VMware) and non-virtualized environments
  • Understanding of basic Active Directory
  • DHCP and DNS concepts for troubleshooting purposes; Understand basic networking concepts
  • An understanding of basic hardware configurations and troubleshooting techniques
  • Research operational issues and provide mitigation recommendations
  • Must be able to multitask and work well under pressure.
  • Needs strong oral and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent judgment and self-motivation.
  • Works independently with little to no supervision researching new technologies or comparing technologies to meet the customers need while providing an unbiased opinion.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
