The candidate will be expected to provide leadership and technical expertise within a small team to solve diverse mission requirements. The candidate must support the entire lifecycle of solution developments from identifying technical needs, eliciting requirements from end users, implementing solutions compliant with program security concerns, acquiring equipment, writing effective documentation, obtaining approvals, training users, and maintaining the solution once deployed. Successful candidates are current on technology capabilities, security risks, and tracing exploitation. In addition, the candidate must maintain and troubleshoot all equipment and solutions implemented to ensure continued successful completion of project objectives. Duties and Responsibilities- Proactively maintain and develop all Linux/ElasticSearch infrastructure technology to maintain a 24x7x365 uptime service
- Engineer systems administration-related solutions for various project and operational needs
- Employ best practices on managing systems and services across all environments
- Fault finding, analysis and of logging information for reporting of performance exceptions
- Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning
- Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches on servers and workstations
- Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks
- Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment
- Collaborate with team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes
- Ability to build and optimize Linux servers
- Ability to perform root cause analysis on external and internal processes and data to identify opportunities for improvement and answer questions
- Excellent analytic skills associated with troubleshoot Linux systems
- Experience performing configuration management (e.g., package installation, starting of services, installing scripts or config files)
- Experience with Infrastructure as code
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, informatics, statistics, or computer science/software engineering
- Minimum of five years of experience using some of the below software and tools:
- In depth knowledge of Linux: RedHat, CentOS, etc.
- Experience with ElasticSearch
- Experiences using Puppet, Ansible, and/or Chef
- Experience with Terraform and auto-deploy software
- Hands on experience with MySQL, Elastic search
- Familiarity with VMware and AWS platforms
- Expert in Shell and/or Python scripting
- Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP
- Additional Linux certifications (RHCT, RHCE and LPIC) will be considered an advantage
- Strong problem solving and communication skills
