Job Description: Primary Responsibilities:

As a Systems Engineer, the individual is responsible for technical planning, system hardware-software-network design, development and integration, verification and validation, and fielding. This may include

the installation, configuration, administration, support and maintenance of systems, including associated hardware and software. Planning must focus on the identification and implementation of strategic improvements that are consistent with the customer's vision and mission. Coordinates with the customer on the prioritization of requirements for all approved/accepted requirements. Ensures adherence to both Industry and customer standards and best practices. Remains cognizant of respective day-to-day tactical issues, ensuring that staff is achieving required performance levels.

As the IT Systems Engineer, the individual satisfies the following IT requirements, with support from assigned staff as necessary:
  • Evaluates system alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems.
  • Perform systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition.
  • Provide technical management, physical and virtual integration, system testing, and quality assurance.
  • Administer the customer's client-server configuration
  • Update to new systems, as well as support current systems by tuning performance, allocating storage space, and implementing critical system patches
  • Configure and deploy Windows servers and Windows OS workstations in a network domain environment
  • Maintain and configure local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN)
  • Install and update server software licensing
  • Install Microsoft Exchange servers and firewall systems
  • Terminate Fiber Optic (ST-SC-LC) and CAT-5 cabling
  • Provide procurement support to acquire software, software maintenance and hardware (not associated with enterprise software/hardware)
  • Regularly employ ingenuity and creativity to develop new technical solutions in order to achieve IT objectives.
  • EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Requires bachelors degree and 8 years of relevant experience. Work experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

Basic Qualifications
  • Provide physical and virtual integration, system testing, and quality assurance.
  • Evaluates system alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems.
  • Update to new systems, as well as support current systems by tuning performance, allocating storage space, and implementing critical system patches
  • Configure and deploy Windows 2016 servers and Windows OS workstations in a network domain environment
  • Create, delete and modify user accounts
  • Install and update server software licensing
  • Demonstrated experience with managing and prioritizing multiple tasks and adapting to changing requirements
  • Demonstrated experience working as part of a team
  • Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated writing/presentation skills
  • Possess TS/SCI clearance (with poly) on contract start date
