At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Software Developer supporting the mission partner, you will be trusted to provide software support. In this role, a typical day will include: The applications we develop aid analysts in solving complex analytical problems. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced software developer to design and develop AWS-based mission applications, working in a small project team in a DevOps environment, and help transition applications to a new environment where needed. The candidate would have the opportunity to work with DevOps engineers, other developers, and architects on applications of varying degrees of scale, risk, and complexity. This includes some new development but also updating and maintaining existing systems to include adding new features and extending capabilities.Required Skills:- Demonstrated experience with full lifecycle application development.
- Demonstrated experience with full stack application development in an AWS environment.
- Demonstrated experience developing Linux-based applications.
- Demonstrated experience with developing in Ruby/Ruby on Rails.
- Demonstrated experience with library development (i.e., gems and modules).
- Demonstrated experience using distributed source control systems (i.e., Git and GitHub).
- Demonstrated ability working in a team environment as well as independently.
- Demonstrated ability managing applications and configurations.
- Experience conducting unit testing and troubleshooting.
- TS/SCI clearance with active Polygraph
- BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Experience communicating with customers, particularly schedules, issues, and status.
- Experience working under Scrum or similar methodology.
- Experience using multiple languages and frameworks (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, Vue, or others).
- Alignment to a mission-critical role that directly impacts the customer's ability to effectively prosecute its mission.
