EXCITING TIMES AT AEROSPACE CORPORATION!

The Communications and Signal Analysis Department (CSAD) at the Aerospace Corporation performs technical analysis, modeling and simulation, and prototyping of end-to-end communications systems. CSAD aids in developing and acquiring innovative systems in the areas of advanced communications, signal interception, and signal processing for both space and terrestrial platforms. The department has expertise in the areas of microwave and optical communications, SIGINT and digital signal processing. This position includes both providing technical work for our customers and assisting in the management of the department.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Providing technical expertise to customers in the areas of advanced communications, modeling and simulation, signal processing and SIGINT
  • Solving technical problems in the areas of communications, signals collection, and data processing
  • Directing small project teams, which will include customer engagement, task definition, resource management, and staff guidance
  • Assisting in department staffing through recruiting, hiring, onboarding new staff, mentoring, and conducting staff performance reviews and recommending performance improvement, career development, and salary/promotion actions
  • Assisting department planning for technology/capability roadmaps, laboratory and personnel resources, and strategic customer engagement

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:
  • MUST HAVE an active TS/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government, for any consideration
  • Obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or another related discipline
  • Minimum of 5-years engineering experience and s trong technical experience in either microwave / optical communications, SIGINT or signal processing (DSP)
  • Strong technical leadership skills with demonstrated project management experience, from project ideation to execution and Aerospace-quality product delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with corporate, customer, and contractor management and staff
  • Demonstrated effective mentorship, career development, and interpersonal skills directed toward junior engineers

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
  • 6+ years of progressively responsible engineering experience in advanced communications systems, signal processing, or signal collection systems
  • Experience developing prototype systems using tools such as MATLAB and/or python
  • Knowledge of hardware implementations and design imperfections, and associated signal quality degradations and mitigation techniques
  • Experience working with Aerospace and customer program offices that support NRO and/or Space Force space programs.
  • Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D.) in relevant engineering disciplines
