Description SAIC has an opportunity for an

API

DevOps Engineer to join a team of professionals providing support to complex development, maintenance, test, and production development environments. This role supports a State Department customer who has a large portfolio of new and legacy systems managed in a scaled Agile Framework approach. Role allows for a hybrid remote schedule and would report onsite in the Crystal City, Virginia area a few times per week depending on the team schedule and project activities. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Own and complete development tickets during sprints
Collaborate with team members to ideate engineering approaches and solutions, research and scope options, and present and assess trade-offs to inform decisions
Build back-end components and RESTful APIs using Python, NodeJS, AWS services, and a variety of databases (relational, graph, NoSQL)
Configure and maintain repeatable infrastructure-as-code (using Kubernetes, Docker, Helm)
Configure and maintain CICD pipelines to deploy code (using GitLab CI/CD)
Manage and implement multiple AWS services
Pursue proof of concepts to validate ideas
Produce and maintain technical architecture diagrams and documentation
Perform peer code reviews and mentor other team members
Proactively communicate status updates

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience;
Experience designing, building, launching, and maintaining web-based software-as-a-service solutions
Experience with back-end / RESTful API development (Python, FastAPI)
Experience working in Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environments and services (EKS, ECR, EC2, S3, CloudWatch)
Experience with building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure (Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, GitLab CI/CD or equivalent)
Experience with relational, graph, or NoSQL databases (at least one of the following: PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, ArangoDB, Neo4J)
Familiarity with test automation and test-driven development
Experience using identity and access management solutions for user authentication and authorization
Strong Understanding of Agile/Scrum Methodologies
Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or on a full team

Required Clearance

Secret clearance to start work with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance as needed.

AWS Certifications
Mastery/Expertise in Python
Mastery/Expertise in PostgreSQL, ArangoDB, Cassandra
Mastery/Expertise in DevOps (GitLab CICD, containers and orchestration, Helm, Docker, Kubernetes)
Strong experience in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), entity resolution, and processing large amounts of data
Experience with Keycloak Identity and Access Management

Target salary range: $125,001 - $150,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
