Job Title Technical Writer - Cyber Security
Location: Arlington, VA (currently fully remote until COVID protocols are lifted) Clearance Required Top Secret w/ SCI Eligibility Zachary Piper is seeking a Cyber Security Technical Writer to work on client site in Arlington, VA to write documents and deliverables for a cybersecurity related government organization. In this role, you will work with an energetic and dynamic publication team, cybersecurity experts, and creatives to draft technical documents and communication deliverables ranging from evolving cybersecurity threat content to senior leadership summaries. An ideal candidate will display a high degree of initiative and ability to work independently under minimum supervision in a fast-paced and impactful environment. What you will do: Write and/or edit technical documents, including time sensitive cybersecurity bulletins, reports, briefings and presentations, cyber analyst guidance, special reports, and other ad hoc products. Develop outlines and drafts for review and approval by technical specialists and project management ensuring that final documents meet applicable requirements. Research and gather technical and background information for inclusion in published products. Consult relevant information sources, technical documents, and client and project personnel, to obtain background information, and verify pertinent content, technical facts, and guidelines.- Provide professional technical writing and editing services on materials such as informational products, presentations, press releases, reports, etc., while complying with DHS style guides and quality control measures.
- Provide authoring for SOPs, reports, slick sheets, presentations, social media messaging, and other materials as requested.
- Research highly technical information and gather input from cybersecurity team members and synthesize into materials that can be shared with an external audience.
- Coordinate stakeholder input, fact-checking, and integration of written text and graphic design.
- Prepare, design, and publish documents and media that are distributed to a large government, national and international user-base.
- Support the development of targeted and strategic communications collateral (e.g., Annual Reports, monthly operational newsletters).
- Experience writing cybersecurity documents and publications
- Experience reviewing and editing work products written by other team members.
- Excellent writing skills, as well as the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively.
- Mastery of English grammar, sentences syntax and formatting.
- Mastery of Microsoft Office products including Word and PowerPoint.
- U.S. Citizenship required (required by federal government for position). SCI Required.
- Display a high degree of initiative and ability to work independently under minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Customer service orientation with strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills
- Knowledge of cybersecurity terminology, indicator types, actors, and TTPs
- Knowledge of policy, current events and issues impacting critical infrastructure
