Job Description: VMWare Engineer

We are providing knowledge-based, information assurance and cybersecurity IT services to the F-35 JSF Virtual Enterprise (JVE) network in support of the F-35 Lightning II Joint Program Office (JPO). Our services include program management, enterprise performance management, enterprise architecture, implementation of emerging capabilities and requirements, life cycle management, operations & maintenance, enterprise data management, service desk support and IT training.

We are building a team of dedicated professionals and are currently seeking a

VMWare Engineer.Analyze, engineering, business, and other data processing problems to develop and implement solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, or network concerns. Requires in depth knowledge and experience with Vsphere, Windows and Linux, VMware, F5 load balancers, HP server and storage hardware and configuration, provisioning and managing Linux (REHL) servers, designing and building VMware VSphere environments, upgrading and migrating VMware VSphere ESXi environments, installing and configuring vCenter Operations Manager, designing, building, and managing VMware Horizon View environments, designing, deploying, and managing Machine Creation Services, including LUN creation, zoning, and multi-patching, designing, deploying, and managing Active Directory domain services, including DNS, DHCP, Remote Desktop Session Host, DFS, Microsoft Failover Clusters, and Microsoft NLB Clusters, DNS BIND, Infoblox (DHCP, IPAM, DNS), diagnosing and resolving vSphere performance issues, evaluating projected usage of CPU, storage, memory and network bandwidth to ensure future procurement planning and service delivery. Perform systems management and integration functions, improve existing computer systems, and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and schedule limitations. May analyze or recommend commercially available software.

Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Writing and running scripts for automating and customizing software development tools. Deploy new tools in order to support CI/CD and software configuration management (SCM).
  • Coordinate and execute assignments with regard to various projects.
  • Coordinate application configuration and management assignments.
  • Customize and modify administrative tasks as per the varying business requirements. Interact with different teams and help in quality control on projects.
  • Plan and arrange work tasks and prioritize assignments. When needed, train and guide junior staff, guide others in their tasks, contribute to performance management, aid in setting goals, and assessment procedures.
  • Build and maintain both organizations and clients' environment documentation and diagrams. Classify and deploy scripts for the configuration and systems testing.
  • Create new platforms for hardware and software to support new site deployments and identify issues and solutions for system integrity and the complete life cycle, beginning from concept to release.
Minimum Education Required:

  • MS or MA degree in a Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, or Engineering.
  • ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: Four (4) years of relevant IT experience with an BA/BS can be substituted for a MA/MS degree.
Minimum Experience Required:

  • Ten (10) years' experience with Virtualization disciplines and protocols to include comprehensive knowledge of specific virtualization system administrator tasks.
  • Five (5) years of concurrent System and VMWare Administrator experience
  • Advanced level industry certification from one of the following: Microsoft, VMWare, AWS or relevant technology (or achieve within six months of hiring).
  • IAT Level II baseline certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program.

Security Clearance: Secret clearance based upon a SSBI or SSBI-PR completed within the past five years.
