Job SummaryThe Business Development Director, Defense and Civilian IT will be responsible for acquiring and managing new client and new partner relationships in the following markets: Army (PEO EIS), VA and DHA (in priority order).Duties & Responsibilities Identifying business opportunities and help develop pursuit strategiesIdentify potential clients in the federal government IT spaceBuild and maintain successful relationships with prospective and existing clients in the federal government, IT spaceBuild and maintain successful relationships with prospective and existing business partnersDevelop partnerships with large and small businesses to form comprehensive teams to create winning proposals for current and prospective clientsCollaborate with executives on business strategy to determine objectives, evaluating current business performance, and maximizing business reach and potentialBecome a subject matter expert on our service offerings, processes and operations, and remain up-to-date on industry newsParticipate in development of winning proposals as an expert on the client/agency/office for which the proposal is being writtenOther duties as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in IT-related field
  • At least 10 years work experience with at least 5 years in a business development role within the government IT services sector to include experience in capture management, proposal development
  • Experience transitioning a small, $30M annually, IT services business into a large, $100M annually, IT services business;
  • An established network in the federal government, IT services market; in particular in the Army and PEO EIS
  • Experience in developing relationships in federal agencies and in developing relationships with other federal government IT service providers;
  • Experience finding and shaping opportunities of at least $25M with an emphasis on Prime opportunities
  • Knowledge of federal acquisition regulations and federal government budgeting processes
  • Reference-able relationships in the federal government marketplace
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation of group presentations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and industry-specific tools such as GovWin, or similar
  • Ability to travel throughout the DC-metro area; travel throughout the United States may be necessary.
