POSITION SUMMARY:

Sugarbush Resort is searching for Guest Service/Ticket Agents for our winter season! Agents will operate the Guest Service Desk or Ticket Office Point of Sale at either Lincoln Peak or Mt Ellen and will split time between these locations as necessary. Agents are responsible for providing guests with accurate information on all resort services, programs, and events, as well as snow conditions and terrain/lift availability. Agents should be able to demonstrate an unflappable demeanor and a genuine concern for the guest and have the ability to sell and troubleshoot Ticket and Season Pass products, handle complaints, and process reports of lost/found or stolen personal property.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Tasks constantly vary depending on conditions, crowds and events at the Resort. Contact with guests is of the utmost importance and must be open-minded, friendly, empathetic and thoughtful.
  • Desk staff may ask for assistance of mountain ambassador volunteer, and, if available, will need to set-up and oversee the task being performed by the ambassador.
  • Provide Senior Desk Staff with updated information and task list in writing, weekly, to facilitate coverage for days off.
  • Impart current and accurate operational status (conditions and lift/terrain availability) and resort information on events and programs to the guests.
  • Must stay informed about services/procedures of all departments and capable of seeking answers to provide guests with accurate information.
  • Process Lost/Found and Damaged/Stolen guest property claims.
  • Respond to all voice-mail and e-mail messages daily.
  • Relay emergency messages to dispatch for posting, and for providing Senior Desk Staff with updated information specific to the day and location.
  • Maintain current and accurate information records for easy access by other staff.
  • Maintain guest-friendly condition of workspace and safe access to the outside kiosk.
  • Post signs, banners and posters as needed to inform guests, keeping signage current and removing signage when outdated.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age,
  • Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, BA/BS preferred.
  • Valid Drivers License and an acceptable driving record.
  • Position requires familiarity with the ski industry. Knowledge of Sugarbush Resort and the Mad River Valley will be helpful.
  • Service industry experience in dealing with public.
  • Person must have a sense of empathy for the guests, a sense of caring for the success of the resort, ability to make decisions after analyzing verbal/body language and specific situations.
  • Have a fair-minded, confident, polite, friendly, and intelligent approach towards guests and fellow staff.
  • Person must enjoy constant challenge, be calm and friendly under pressure, and be willing to cooperate as a team member with other staff and departments when supervisor requests help.
