Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED

Mature, courteous deportment

Legible printing

Clear speaking voice; multi-language ability desirable

Typing/computer skills

Six (6) months of nursing assistant experience or certification required

Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides assistance with the activities of daily living for all patients on the unit

Performs vital signs

Communicates pertinent information to members of the patient care team

Must be able to perform accurately and quickly in a busy, stressful environment, setting priorities as to duties

Deals with the emotional stress of caring for dying and chronically ill patients

Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC’s Service Standards into their daily work:

Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:

Accepts the risk of job-related illness and injury which may cause long-term health problems

Must be able to lift greater than 50 pounds and push 0-300 pounds using approved hospital transport devices

Activities may include intermittent or prolonged: standing, walking, and sitting
