Your Opportunity

Personalized Investing Engineering (PIE) develops and operates Schwab's most innovative products with a primary goal of delighting our clients while empowering them to meet their financial objectives. PIE leads delivery of three products, each with a common focus of personalizing the investment experience to the needs of our customers. We are seeking a talented people leader who is passionate about protecting the trust our customers place in our applications by leading teams focused on application observability, resilience, availability, deployment, and security. In this role, you are responsible for the production operations of all PIE applications running on private & public cloud (AWS) platforms. Reporting to the PIE Managing Director, you will operate with autonomy while collaborating closely with development leaders to ensure your mutual needs and roadmaps are met. You will lead other people leaders and some senior individual contributors.

  • Defining and communicating strategy and vision and influence across the Enterprise and then execute at scale in a dynamic environment.
  • Partnering and consulting to iteratively deliver solutions while establishing a high bar for production readiness.
  • Leveraging data to inform your decisions, and that of your teams and applications.
  • Building enduring relationships based on mutual trust and authenticity.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Effective balance of the urgent and important.

What you have

  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related degree/experience
  • 10+ years of leading and managing IT managers and teams, with agile process management, financial management, resource management, and offshore resource management capabilities.
  • 5+ years of experience with running large/complex projects with multiple dependencies.
  • 3+ years of experience in Financial Services industry.
  • Broad and deep knowledge of Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC), Scaled Agile Frameworks, Process Engineering (Technical), Portfolio/Program/Project Management processes and improvements.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Datacenter and/or public cloud application migration experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with ITSM practices/tooling while passionate about continuous improvement.
  • AWS Experience is highly desirable.
Colorado Compensation

Target Total Compensation - 194,000 - 266,000
