Your Opportunity

Core Technology Solution (CTS) Client Data Management Team (CDMT) is responsible for Charles Schwab's core customer and account data including system of record, business event publishing & consumption, along with hundreds of modern RESTful and legacy APIs which feed our many channels and client experiences. In fact, our front line clients access the technology we build when they access their Schwab account - this role is also involved in the overall modernization of our platforms - it's an exciting time to join this team and be involved in building something that our clients love to use every day!

We are looking for a talented Sr. Manager to lead 4+ Scrum Teams involved in modernizing our customer and account technology landscape through the use of service and event-oriented architecture. The solutions your teams implement will need to scale horizontally and demonstrate pragmatic thinking around non-functional requirements.

  • You will challenge the status quo; you will leverage relationships with team members to solicit feedback and input on SDLC processes. You will leverage your hard-earned wisdom to show 'progress over perfection' as we deconstruct the monolith while aligning ourselves to technology and business strategies for the firm.

You will communicate strategic technology plans to associated business partners ensuring collaboration across technology and the business. You create formal networks involving many groups to ensure shared outcomes are understood and issues are addressed.
  • You will develop talent on your teams through active listening, goal setting, coaching, motivation, and illuminating team successes. You love 'walking in the shoes' of your developers and scrum masters and you delight in taking actions to address common pain points or wasteful activities.
  • You will be responsible for planning, staffing, budgeting and managing expense priorities. You will help drive a 'platform operating model' which seeks to productize our service offerings to the firm. You will be accountable for managing an annual budget across the managed projects/FOEX initiatives and support within 1% variance.
  • You will use your strong engineering background to converse with technology leaders and translate strategy into executable plans. You can translate between business and technology and build credibility with technology leaders by thinking through tradeoffs and providing input to critical decision making for our products/platforms.
