Job Description:

Release Portfolio Management is responsible for deep knowledge of a collection of portfolios of platforms, applications, and products and partners with CIO and TI teams as well as Production Support teams to guide changes into production in a stable and risk-free manner. This requires broad knowledge of the Lean IT/SDLC/ITIL/Change policy, processes environments, and tools as well as the production risk control framework. Monthly managed release events are utilized most to deliver change into production. This role is responsible for planning, orchestrating, and managing the release events for the portfolios.

  • Responsible for management of a team 10+
  • Responsible for deep knowledge of a collection of portfolios of platforms, applications, and products. Average portfolio size 100 to 150 applications/products
  • Responsible for broad knowledge of SDLC/ITIL/change policies including waterfall and Lean IT/agile development methodologies
  • Responsible for broad knowledge of the environments, tools, processes utilized by the portfolio teams to develop, test, execute changes for the portfolio
  • Partner with Technical project managers, application development and testing teams to plan, execute, and deliver change initiatives into production ensuring risk control and production stability
  • Responsible for planning, orchestrating, and managing the monthly release for the portfolio including working in the release control room thru the production release event. Release events average 5 to 6 days in duration and require working a minimum of 1 weekend a month
  • Act as liaison to other change and release teams for the portfolio

Required Skills:
  • Release/Change Management or Project management experience
  • Application development methodologies including Waterfall and Agile
  • Financial industry experience in a large-scale organization
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, presentation skills a must
  • Strong diplomacy and influence skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to motivate and lead individuals
  • Ability to work M-F 8am - 5pm CT w/monthly weekend support and occasional evening support

Desired Skills:
  • Education: College degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience: 5 to 10 years
  • Travel: Minimal to twice a year
  • Prior people management experience
  • Software development experience. Multiple technical disciplines is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Skype, Word, Excel, and SharePoint)
  • Experience working in a geographically disperse, multi-national/cultural environment
  • Experience with ITSM Remedy
  • Knowledge of Environment Management
  • Release planning and execution experience
