FULL-TIME

Job Summary Below:

This position pays between $26 - $30/hr depending on experience. The candidate must be able to work any shift, including weekends and be available for overtime.

Preform basic electrical/mechanical troubleshooting installations and repairs. Preforms preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities as assigned. These tasks are done to ensure that equipment and buildings are maintained to a high level of dependability. Daily supervision is required to assure that specific job assignments are completed in a safe and timely fashion. To ensure that work performed is a present skill level and abilities are present to advance to a higher craft level in the future.

Primary Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:

Must be supportive and involved in GPI efforts for LEAN, 5’s, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement programs and processes.

Ability to clearly understand customer requirements and deliver result to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Ability and responsibility to stop any process that is not meeting safety requirements and stop any process that is not meeting customer quality requirements.

Ability to work in a safe manner and assures co-workers work in a safe manner.

Performs electrical/mechanical preventative maintenance to assure minimum machine downtown.

Performs electrical/mechanical component replacement assuring compliance with work order instructions.

Resolves electrical/mechanical emergency breakdowns on equipment to minimize downtime.

Performs electrical/mechanical installations as directed.

Maintains adequate records of work performed on equipment and corrective action taken.

Displays good work habits that will set a good example for co-workers. Continually monitors and maintains work areas to keep them clean and sell organized.

Responsible for compliance with all facility safety and quality policies and procedures including product safety and (GMPs)/Sanitation policies and procedures. Employee must continually work to promote the orderliness and cleanliness of their work area to support AIB/5’s and other company standards.

Must be supportive of GPI’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values (Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork).

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Strong mechanical and technical skills.

Thorough attention to detail.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Thorough understanding of technical written (and verbal)

Basic computer and data entry skills.

Visual color discrimination, the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of colors.

Ability to work under minimal supervision.

Good attendance

The ability to work with other team members and participate in teamwork and team processes.

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma preferred, technical school education, or equivalent. Mathematics emphasis preferred.

Experience working in industrial maintenance for 2+ years preferred.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.

Work Schedule

o Must be able to work any shift, including off shift nights and/or weekends.

o Must be able to work overtime as required.

o Must be able to perform the job in the physical plant location.

o The employee is frequently required to lift under 10 pounds and between 40-45 pounds.

o Frequent/strenuous physical effort (lifting, moving heavy objects, etc.) required.

o Must be able to push, pull, and carry up to 40 pounds.

o While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is regularly exposed to dust, fumes, vibration, toxic conditions, powder spray, heat, cold, and potential work hazards from the dryers.

o The noise level in the work environment is loud.

o Personal Protective Equipment is required. This includes; steel toe shoes, safety glasses, ear protections, and gloves. Other PPE may be required for specific tasks.

Schedule

Shift start: 6:00AM or 6:00PM
Shift length: 12 hours
Must be available to work any shift, regular shift will be 6am to 6pm Monday -Thursday. Some nights/weekends may be required.
