Data Governance Specialist

Data Governance Specialist Location: Houston, TX Contract: Through 2021 Summary: We are looking for an experienced data management/governance specialist to help bring data into the Azure Data Platform. The data needs to be cataloged, recorded/linked into our data management software. You will need to bridge the gap and support between the business data catalog and technical data catalog. We will expect you to have solid PowerBI experience for reporting requests and creating dashboards for analytics purposes. Qualifications: Experience with data catalogs Experience with PowerBI Experience in Microsoft Azure technologies (within the Azure Data Platform especially) Previous project experience with Master Data Management (MDM) for strong exposure to data governance, setting up data catalogs, etc. Familiar with or experienced in the Agile delivery methodology and capable of running Scrums and building user stories with the use of Azure DevOps Strong communication skills to communicate and bridge the gaps between the business and technical teams Nice to Have: Experienced in and Familiar with the commodity trading businesses in Oil, Natural Gas, Power, LNG, or NGL products, from front to back office transactions and the related data elements Well-versed in commodity trading ETRM systems, including OpenLink Endur, Right Angle, or others Experienced in implementing data management solutions for trading or large organizations R, Python, ML, or AI experience in visualizations is a big plus Experience in the Investment / Banking / Finance industry if there is no experience in the trading sector
