Quality Assurance Manager
Texas, Houston, 77001 Houston USA$18-26 an hour based on experience, education, and work ethic. We are willing to train the right person!
General Responsibilities:
Follow all specifications, formulas, work instructions, and procedures applicable to the position and product being produced.
Test, as assigned and dictated by procedures, all in process and finished product.
Perform line audits to inspect proper date codes, weights, seal integrity, package appearance, and physical, chemical, and sensory attributes.
Perform with CCP inspections, and complete the applicable HACCP records.
Inspect as needed work activities such as cleaning, line clearance, changeovers, etc.
If a product is incorrect or out of control, halt so proper adjustments can be made.
Help guide the network protocol of nonconforming product.
Work closely with departmental supervisors and staff to explain and guide quality activities.
Will comply with California Dried Fruit, Inc. food safety and food safety related manuals, plans, and procedures. Not limited to the following procedures:
Allergen Control Program
GMP’s
Shipping & Receiving Procedures
HACCP/CCPs
Personal cleanliness
Worksite cleanliness
Foreign materials & foreign material controls
Sanitation
Attentiveness & proactiveness of potential maintenance & food safety concerns.
Other applicable procedures.
Technical Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain lab equipment such as brix units, pH meters, scales, etc. as instructed and trained.
Secure and maintain labs, lab equipment, and any QC supplies.
Read and follow all safety instructions found on chemicals and equipment.
Keep specific and detailed records of all activities.
Other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
2-3 year experience in QC preferred
Must possess math and reading skills
Ability to be assertive when necessary
Must possess a good sense in judgment
