HIRE Technology is seeking a Category Manager for a great Fortune company in Houston. This is a 6 month contract to hire, with great potential for extended renewal or conversion to FTE. This job is 100% remote working until further notice.
Category Manager: A supply chain professional specialized in Category Management as well as the planning and executing of associated projects. Specific Job Responsibilities include:- Responsible for end-to-end governance of professional services delivery and vendor engagement
- Oversee category strategy for facilities categories, including services, packaging, supplies, and energy.
- Manages day-to-day implementation of proposed policy and processes
- Responsible for driving vendor engagement to improve programs, drive optimal service and cost, and resolve concerns.
- Establishes and maintains proactive communication with internal stakeholders
- Ensures a consistent and seamless user experience across the company
- Leads and supports contract negotiations and coordinates the review and approval process between all involved parties.
- Works with the Finance and others to measure compliance, track KPIs and report progress
- 6 - 8 years of related experience in information technology, supply chain
- Minimum of 2 years Category Management experience within a distribution, retail or wholesale environment preferred.
- Experience as Project Manager, managing and tracking projects.
- Advocate for the change management process, open to new ideas.
- Demonstrates understanding of vendor management concepts and implementation techniques, including contract negotiation and vendor performance monitoring.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently.
- Demonstrates ability to define and manage processes.
- Familiarity with legal terms and ability to communicate effectively with legal counsel.
- Superior interpersonal skills; is seen as a mediator with the ability to diffuse potential conflicts between people and/or groups.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to facilitate meetings, conduct presentation sessions and effectively lead discussions.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management and staff.
- Ability to work in a high activity/fast-paced environment
- Demonstrates the highest level of professional maturity; continuous self-assessment and improvement.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Advanced MS Office skills – Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Sharepoint experience
