Job Description

The UI/UX Designer is a key member of our Product Management team. In this role, you will encounter varied UI challenges due to the scale and wide-ranging types of data presented in the application. You will be responsible for deeply understanding who our users are and what they are trying to accomplish, doing detailed design work on new features, as well as driving forward the overall look, feel, and information architecture in the application.

To be successful in this role you must be an excellent visual designer with the ability to take functional requirements and create rich user interfaces and experiences. You also must be passionate about contributing to the kind of team that promotes our culture and Core Values. We execute as a team and expect strong collaboration to ensure consistent communication within our Product team and across the entire company.

  • Quickly gain an understanding of our SaaS software product, its key components, and how our users interact with it
  • Plan usability research sessions and execute on them with the help of our research team
  • Participate in the creation of user stories and personas
  • Lead the effort to design complete user experiences in support of user stories including creation of storyboards, prototypes, and wireframes
  • Lead the advancement of our interaction model and information architecture
  • Liaise and coordinate design development within the design team and with third-party designers and researchers

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years’ experience as a UX designer, UI designer, or UI-oriented product manager for web-based software
  • At least 3 years of experience developing information architecture and/or interaction design
  • Display a strong portfolio of past design projects
  • Proficient in design software (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills: projection of professional image and credibility, teamwork oriented and inclusive, communication within the team
  • Background in project management and/or application design is a plus
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS, JavaScript is a plus
  • Local to Houston, TX is a plus but not a requirement
