Senior Cognos Developer

iSphere is seeking a Senior Cognos Developer for a 6+ month opportunity in Houston, TX. JOB REQUIREMENTS- Coordinate and support the successful implementation of application roll-outs.- Project long range requirements and create vision for implementation of software- applications in conjunction with the IT Manager.- Install, maintain, and manage Oracle databases supporting Oracle Applications, Parametric Technology applications and several in-house implementations.- Create Oracle forms and reports, design and develop PL/SQL scripts for system interfaces, conduct data conversionsand perform data modeling.- Perform system maintenance including back-ups, recovery, performance tuning and security administration.- Perform troubleshooting, networking, training and support of clients.- Perform other work related tasks as assigned.- Comply with allCompany and HSE policies and procedures.- Supporting to report writers in the business and consumers of Cognos reports. QUALIFICATIONS- Minimum bachelor’s degree a must.- Degree in one of the following is preferred: Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, ManagementInformation Systems, Computer Information Systems- Additional degree/ experience/ knowledge in Industrial/Manufacturing Eng. is encouraged- Should have working knowledge of database concepts and SQL- 5-10 experience working with Cognos reporting environment is a requirement (Report Studio/Analysis Studio/Framework Manager/Transformer- Experience administering a Cognos reporting environment required- Experience on the use of various business systems to extract meaningful data and perform appropriate analysis toprovide business insights is desired- Should be familiar with terminologies used in a manufacturing/ production environment- Familiarity with continuous improvement strategies (lean, six-sigma, QRM, and the like) will be useful, but not required- Strong math and analysis skills required- APICS certification a plus
