Staff Accountant

Description Our client, a growing company in the oil & gas industry, is seeking a skilled Staff Accountant to join their team on a contract basis. The ideal staff accountant will have 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience and be able to work independently and as part of a team.Responsibilities:

Assist with month-end close processes, including preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and analyzing variances

Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets

Maintain and update accounting records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable

Assist with audits and tax filings

Provide support for ad hoc accounting and finance projects as needed

Requirements

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

2-3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in [industry/sector]

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices

Proficiency with accounting software, such as QuickBooks or Sage

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
