Senior Network Engineer

Hi ALL, Role: Senior Network Engineer Location : Houston, TX Duration: 6+ Months, Onsite. Client: APEX/BP-Houston Required Skills Amazon Web Services (AWS),Cisco Requirements:

• Senior level Cisco Network Engineer with 7+ yrs of experience
• Strong cisco network design, deployment, and documentation skills
• Strong ability to self-manage, organize, and prioritize workload
• Strong communication skills to negotiate work scope, apprise project team, and to resolve issues by involving others
• Highly skilled with Cisco Switch Stacking, Layer2 (Trunk, LACP, STP design), Layer3 (BGP, SVI)
• Able to make recommendations to Architect on design, and able to flex to use company standards or other best-practices
• Able to document implementation design and guide team through physical installation
  • Strong implementation skills & experience
    • Rack-n-Stack
    • Configuration according to best practices
      • A preference towards automation
    • System hardening according to Cisco guides
• Able to document as-built design (L1 L3) and provide KT/hand-off to support team
• Able to create full set of test-cases and validate & document network failure conditions
  • Able to manage compute systems or automation to perform validation
    • Preferred automation might include Robot framework, Python, Ansible etc.

• Cisco CCNP level experience for 5+ yrs
  • Switch Stacking (initially 9300L, followed by 9300S when delivered)
  • Fiber interconnections (20-40K SMF, Local MMF)
  • LACP Port Channels
  • Strong hands-on understanding of subnetting and IP Address planning
  • iBGP configuration
  • eBGP configuration
  • L3 SVI's
  • L2 LACP trunk to downstream
  • L2 LACP trunk to upstream + 2 x /30 SVI's for L3 BGP establishment
  • L2 Spanning Tree loop-free Design (prune appropriate VLANs on Fiber ring)
• Palo Alto experience
  • FW Rules
  • BGP configuration or updates
  • VPN Tunnel configuration or updates
