Join our commodities and global markets technology team in Houston as a Junior DevOps Engineer.

In this role you will design, develop and implement automated testing, release and perform operational support of a global financial management application. Our globally distributed team has a strong focus on continuous delivery and platform automation.

In this role, you will bring a strong operational support background, development experience and experience working in challenging, fast-paced work environment that is highly visibility to internal customers and stakeholders.

Description:

You will:

Grow our data science and massive distributed compute platform
Evolve our bespoke continuous deployment system (Scala / ReactJS), which is optimized for Kubernetes, Bazel and content-addressable storage
Work with best-of-breed open-source technology upon GitOps/AWS infrastructure
You will have the freedom to innovate, architect, build and take ownership of new solutions, working closely with the Quantitative Strategies team and trading desks

To be effective in this role, you will have:

hands-on experience in cloud deployment (e.g. AWS, Kubernetes etc)
software development experience in a JVM language (e.g. Scala, Java) with an interest in functional programming
a passion for technology, automation and continuous innovation
familiarity with Linux system administration and tools such as git
effective interpersonal skills and the ability to mentor and coach

Experience in these are desirable, but not mandatory:

software development experience in a scripting language (e.g. Python)
front-end development experience in ReactJS
financial services / capital markets experience or interest
build tooling (in particular, Bazel)
an understanding of networking technologies
