The Operations Manager oversees the day to day activities required to efficiently carry out the processes needed to satisfy customer requirements. This includes but is not limited to receiving, shipping, inspection, inventory, and discrepancy resolution.Primary Tasks:Assist assigned departments meet safety, quality, production, and customer goals as defined by the customer and management.
Assist in developing a team environment and promote a positive attitude within all departments.
Assist with Employee development - including performance evaluations and training.
Employee hiring, suspension, dismissal, and disciplinary actions as well as conferring with management, HR, peers, and/or subordinates to resolve employee issues.
Read and analyze various production schedules and reports to determine production requirements.
Assist with creating and/or providing reports and metrics to Director of Operations.
Help ensure that company policies and guidelines are defined, documented, implemented, understood, maintained and controlled.
Assist with Monitoring audit activities to ensure compliance with known customer, industry, self-imposed or regulatory requirements.
Work with management on other assigned duties.
Suggest modifications to established procedures and create best practices while improving quality and reduce cost.
Secondary Tasks:Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area.
Manage some internal and external client relationships as needed.
Education: High School Diploma is required
Degree in business related field or equivalent experience
Experience: Some experience supervising and/or developing others
Skills:Ability to read, write, and speak English
Working knowledge of budgets, P&L, forecasting, and financial metrics
MS Office Suite Proficiency
Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
Excellent time management, critical thinking, problem solving, attention to details, planning, communication, and follow through skills
Reporting and analytical abilities related to data
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Bending, standing, sitting, walking, and lifting for extended periods
Desired Skills: Bilingual helpful but not required
Mistake proofing
Blueprint reading
Lean manufacturing
ISO or other formal quality systems
Proficiency in Warehouse Management System and integrated ERP systems
