Location: TX/FL/NJ/NY/MA/VA (Hybrid 3 days onsite, Rest days remote)

Why you'll love this job: The Agile Coach is responsible for coaching other key roles within a Tribe (such as Tribe Lead, Functional Manger, SM, PO, PfM, Product Manager etc) to raise their level of mastery and awareness so that they can utilize Our Ways of Working to enable a mindset centered around value and learnings. Agile Coaches may participate in agile events across many Squads within their Tribe to support the health of the Agile system.

They are focused on maturing the Agile Coaching competency through a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring professional growth in the practice of agile. Agile Coaches collaborate with other Agile Coaches within the Chapter in support of the direction of the Tribe.

What You'll Do:
  • Establish strong partnerships with stakeholders and team members to serve as a trusted partner during their transition to and growth with Our Ways of Working principles and practices
  • Apply Agile values and principles to software delivery and operations teams
  • Be a thought leader, identifying new areas of opportunity to be solved to enable the desired outcome of sustaining Business Agility.
  • Coach and train senior leadership on Agile concepts and principles to build, grow, support and sustain thriving Agile Tribes
  • Teach team members the skills they can use to improve their processes
  • Develop and refine best practices and processes to guide teams through Agile methodology
  • Embody effective leadership competencies to enable groups and lead meetings to derive learning and lasting outcomes.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer through workshops, trainings and informal coaching
  • Collaborate on strategies for successful company Agile methodology adoption and evolution
  • Participate in developing and refining good practices for projects with Agility
  • Mentor leaders and team members in how to Agile principles to be self-sustainable
  • Make critical process recommendations and think strategically in order to optimize the entire system

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business or a related field
  • Establish strong partnerships with stakeholders and team members to serve as a trusted partner during their transition to Lean-Agile principles and practices
  • Apply Lean-Agile values and principles to software delivery and operations teams
  • Teach team members the skills they can use to improve their processes
  • Develop and refine best practices and processes to guide teams through Agile methodology
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer through workshops, trainings and informal coaching
  • Collaborate on strategies for successful company Agile methodology adoption
  • Participate in developing and refining best practices for projects with Agility
  • Mentor leaders and team members in agile principles
  • Make critical process recommendations and think strategically in order to optimize the entire system
  • Excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts (such as definition of done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement)
  • Excellent communication and servant leadership skills
  • Speak in front of groups and lead meetings
  • Problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability
  • Outstanding organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3 years of experience as an Agile Coach
  • 5+ years of other Agile experience (Scrum Master, Release Train Engineer, Portfolio Manager, Product Owner)
  • 3 years of experience in software development/information technology
  • Proficiency with leading workshops including Story Mapping, Value Stream Mapping, Story Writing, Design Thinking etc.
  • Proficiency in Agile practices and ability to coach teams and programs at varying maturity levels
  • Proficiency with organizational and facilitation skills
  • Experience communicating how to transition from a project based funding model to a product based model.
  • Experience guiding organizations on efficient management structures that can flex with the needs of the business.
  • Experience with having a consultant mindset, helping clients to turn problems into solutions
  • Experience with a variety of Agile methodologies, including Scrum, XP, Kanban, etc.
  • Experience scaling Lean-Agile practices, preferably Scaled Agile Framework experience
  • Experience working with item tracking tools (Azure, Jira, etc.)
  • Creative problem solving and influencing skills
