TITLE: Manager, Data Engineering Location: Remote in the U.S.
ICS is looking for an experienced Manager, Data Engineering, with B2B or B2C SaaS product experience, to join our client's team! You can act as a strong leader and provide guidance to multiple Software Development Engineers focused on the backend-centric, data-centric side of the customer-facing products. As the leader of the squads, you will be creating clear objectives and deliverables with an emphasis on scalability, maintainability, security, and performance. You will ensure high-quality applications and on-time delivery of software that supports our growing business. Our innovative leader will work in an Agile environment that mentors and fosters team collaboration. What You'll Do:- Lead software development team towards the best technical solution for functionalities required within the product.
- Define expectations and develop metrics to monitor results.
- Troubleshoot and resolve the team's technical impediments.
- Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to the team.
- Coach, train and provide regular feedback to the team.
- Collaborate with other Dev Managers and Architecture Team when defining new designs and solutions.
- Suggest initiatives to improve current processes and technologies.
- Analyze system specifications and translate system requirements to manageable & measurable tasks
- A modern, innovative approach to software development with an emphasis on setting standards and maintaining system scalability, security, and performance
- Expert-level knowledge of the Microsoft SQL Server and the ability to develop and document database architectures (relational and no SQL)
- Proficiency in SQL Server Integration Service, SQL Server Reporting Services, SSAS and SQL Server Management Studio
- Development skills that include data models for applications, metadata tables, views, or related database structures as well as load-balancing processes that eliminate down-time for backup processes
- Problem-solving skills-you can troubleshoot and resolve errors
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and coordinate projects, and meet simultaneous deadlines
- Curiosity, and the subsequent research to support it, about new technological advancements that offer uncommon solutions to problems
- The ability to partner with other teams to help determine the scope, design, execution, and optimization of projects, and effective communication skills to ensure your ideas are understood
- Enthusiasm and interest for your role, and the knowledge that improvement is always possible
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Management Information Systems or equivalent work experience, with a minimum of 6 years experience
