Job Description: The Senior Manager of Data Engineering will play a critical role within the Data Engineering organization to ensure that data is onboarded, validated, and reconciled in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner. This role will have responsibility for managing a large number of on-site team members plus offshore resources consisting of data analysts, team leads, and developers.Responsibilities:
  • Partner with stakeholders both inside and outside of the Data Engineering department to define requirements and build roadmaps for enhanced data quality, accuracy, and availability.
  • Manage SLAs for data availability and processes running in DEV, UAT, and Production.
  • Ensure that critical reporting and audit deadlines are met.
  • Develop and implement quality controls and operational enhancements/efficiencies.
  • Ensure that data mapping and validation is consistent and documented.
  • Lead the team to identify trends in data and build new methodologies for increased data accuracy.
  • Manage the collection of missing data from carriers and Integrity business units.
  • Ensure that data reconciliation is consistent, documented, and meets applicable financial audit standards.
  • Monitor risks and escalate to cross-functional teams, vendors, or management as needed.
  • Anticipate future workload of initiates related to people, vendors, and technology.
  • Assist with the design of systems and technologies to automate processes and streamline operations.
  • Provide team members coaching and assist team members in setting and achieving career goals.
Requirements:
  • A combination of technical skills and a business leader mindset.
  • 10+ years in a Data Engineering role including people management.
  • At least 6 years of hands-on experience working in large and complex data sets.
  • Strong knowledge of how tools such as SQL, Python, ETL Tools, and BI can be utilized to achieve objectives and productivity.
  • Excellent presentation skills at a senior leadership level.
  • Highly organized, experience in Project Management is a plus.
  • Work in downtown Dallas, TX. No WFH.
