Technical Product Manager (Application Development)

Our boutique client, a technology studio based in Dallas, is looking for an experienced Technical Product Manager with a background in enterprise application development and product management. They are undertaking a major re-architecting of a complex financial application that they developed for an automotive client several years ago that has continued to evolve. This is a salaried, fulltime role.The role will require a deep understanding of the application, intensive stakeholder management, a high level of ownership, and a solid understanding of the product’s lifecycle to become the go-to subject matter expert for client and team members alike.In this client facing role, you will interface with a multitude of stakeholders, and lead a fast-moving, small team responsible for the continued maintenance and new development of the application. Responsible for traditional IT project management tasks required in software development initiatives.

• Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the application, consulting on functionality and integration with other applications within our client's ecosystem
• Understand the impact and importance of requests coming from various stakeholders to roadmap major initiatives
• Communicate with mid-to-senior level client stakeholders from marketing, technology and executive management
• Act as a liaison and primary facilitator between internal and external teams
• Collaborate with other team members including Business Analysts, UX Designers, Technical Architects, Developers, and QAs to ensure company quality standards are always met
• Create and maintain project budgets and timelines; proactively track and correct variance from the project bid, scope, or timetable
• Develop budgets and proposals for new initiatives; write SOWs as they are awarded
• Keep all client stakeholders in the know, via status reports and other forms of communication
• Proactively identify client risks or opportunities and help manage the project team to effectively respond
• Assign, monitor, and direct workflow by setting daily, weekly, and long-term project goals

• 5-8 years of experience as a Project Manager, or Scrum Master in software or web development
• Experience in Agile and related product lifecycle processes helpful (CSM and/or PMP preferred)
• Experience in automotive or financial industry, or working on the vendor side is a plus
• Top-notch oral and written communication skills with an ability to address technical and non-technical audiences; effectively communicate ideas in a presentation setting
• Keen problem solver with a proactive mindset that supports your success on a small team.
