Title:

Oracle Database

Administrator

Duration: 12 Months Plus Extensions

Location: Dallas, TXExperience : Ten (10) years of experience in system administration with at least (5) year experience with hardware deployment (physical or virtual).
  • Minimum 5 Years of Experience as an Oracle DBA in:
    • Oracle Hardware (PCA, ZFS)
    • Oracle VM
    • Oracle Database
  • Knowledge of and skill in scripting (e.g. Perl, Bash, Hawk, Shell, Powershell).
  • Knowledge of and skill in VMware ESX/ESXi and/or Oracle VM Experience.
  • Knowledge and skill in Active Directory and/or Oracle Identity Management.
  • Knowledge and skill in enterprise level storage (NAS/SAN) systems.
  • Ability to work on-call and on a rotational shift basis.
  • Ability to delegate, coordinate and supervise the work of professional and technical personnel (including contractors) in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships inside and outside the organization. Desirable:
  • RedHat Linux Certification (5,6,7). Oracle Cloud/System/Database certification.
Education and Certifications : Bachelor's degree in business, computer science or a related field.

Duties and Requirements :

  • Responsible for backup and disaster recovery of managed systems.
  • Plans and implements systems/software installation and enhancements.
  • Investigates, evaluates and recommends system monitoring and performance tools.
  • Establishes technical standards and processes for requesting technology solutions.
  • Provides project management leadership to carry out systems operations projects.
  • Provides an advanced level of technical expertise in planning and implementing systems.
  • Responsible for overall management of projects, budget, performance of direct reports.
  • Evaluates system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
  • Analyzes all aspects of the existing infrastructure and recommends modifications that will enhance system reliability, availability, serviceability and scalability.
  • Works with teammates, clients and other teams to identify and address systems problems.
  • Evaluates new developments and recommend infrastructure modifications.
  • Provides in depth consultation to application teams on a variety of different applications.
  • Assists in defining standards, guidelines, best practices and metrics.
  • Leads large, complex projects to achieve key business objectives.
  • Solves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business.
  • Translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences.
  • Develops pioneering approaches to emerging industry trends.
  • Assists with procurement of server and software resource capacity.
  • Assists with server racking, installation and configuration.
  • Conducts server virtualization installation and configuration.
  • Installs and configures operating and database systems.
  • Creates and maintains effective relationships with hardware and software vendors
  • Performs operating and database system hardening and patching
  • Conducts performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Maintains documentation of server, storage, network and system software configuration. Possession of a valid class C driver's license.
