Summary The Primary Purpose of the Position is: To exercise technical and administrative supervision over subordinate Housekeeping Aids in accomplishing the environmental mission of the Environmental Management Service. This position is located BONHAM TX in the Environmental Sanitation Section, Environmental Management Service, VA North Texas Health Care System. The incumbent is under the immediate supervision of the Assistant Hospital Housekeeping Officer. Responsibilities Performs work planning responsibilities Plan the utilization of workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a daily and/or project basis. Adhere to work priorities, project schedules, resources, and detailed work plans established by higher level supervisors. Follows customary work cycles and sequences in planning work assignments. Tracks and reports progress on work assignments. In order to meet cons!antly changing requirements the Supervisor submits recommended. workforce adjustments, overtime documents, -equipment and material status- reports for concurrence by higher supervisory personnel. Recommends changes to schedules, priorities, and work sequences as necessary and makes minor deviations in procedures or redirects resources under their control to overcome problems such as equipment failure, material delays, or unplanned absences. With only general supervision from the Assistant Hospital Housekeeping Officer and suggestions from the Housekeeping Aid (HKA) Leader the incumbent is responsible for maintaining acceptable sanitation standards in his/her assigned area in accordance with Medical Center policy. After initial general instruction; incumbent goes from task to task without constant supervision. Areas for which incumbent is responsible are inspected by the Assistant Hospital Housekeeping Officer and HKA Leader to note quality of work and adherence to sanitation standards and time schedules. Supplies and equipment such as scrubbers, buffers, vacuum cleaners and water pick-up machines are expensive items. Performs work direction responsibilities. Directs a workforce that consists of: (10) Housekeeping Aid Leader, WL-3566-02; (151.8) Housekeeping Aid, WG-3566-02 positions. Assigns work to individuals and provides technical direction and/or helps in accomplishing difficult work steps and processes. Observes work in progress to anticipate and resolve problems, reassigns personnel within group supervised; and coordinates work among workers and other supervisors to maintain work progress and meet schedules.
