Business Analyst 2The successful candidate will have exceptional skills in gathering and documenting requirements, change management communications, IT/OT systems integration, business process recommendations, project budgets and deliverables. The candidate must also exhibit demonstrated success managing stakeholder relations, working with vendors, consultants, and cross functional teams.This position will be responsible for partnering with an assigned project manager in support of Austin Energy’s upgrade effort for its external facing outage map. The successful candidate will work independently to review the previous upgrade’s goals, outcomes, and current state, then work towards achieving the new upgrade project’s goals. Effective communication across the utility is paramount for a candidate to perform successfully in this position. Also, a mastery of MS Word, particularly in formatting documents, is core to this position. Additional utility approved projects and initiatives for FY22 and scope of engagement will be further defined upon hire. Essential duties and functions may include the following. Work closely with project manager in support of project goalsOrganize and facilitate requirements gathering sessions to elicit requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to potential system integration solutionsCreate models, use cases, process flows, specifications, diagrams and charts to provide direction to developers, designers, and vendorsProvide risk identification and recommendations for reasonable risk postureWrite and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address portfolio needs; fill in for Project Manager as needed to deliver project status reportsCoordinate and perform testing, including end-user reviews for modified and new systems, training and other post-implementation and portfolio supportApply critical thinking and problem solving to overcome project challenges and ensure objectives are metIn partnership with Project Manager, conduct weekly and ad hoc meetings on program and program initiatives as needed; track issues through resolution lifecycle; work with team to develop and deliver presentations for use in program related meetingsWhen necessary, assist in writing Request For Information/Request for Proposals for external services and business plans for internal executive approval“Own” the business relationship with subject matter experts and their leadership from project kickoff to close outDevelop successful transition, training plans and recognition for resources on the project team Worker Skills and QualificationsMinimum Requirements (Required)YearsSkills/Experience Graduation from an accredited (4) four-Year College or university with major course work in a field related to the job plus two (2) years of experience.
