Systems Administrator (Jira Focus)

100% Remote

Long Term Ongoing Contract

We are looking for a talented Remote Systems Administrator to join our team! You will be joining a division responsible for Systems and Software Automation and the deployment of those applications across the customer's ecosphere. You will be working within a Linux Server environment and helping to support their Atlassian Tool Suite (install, upgrade, patch, and troubleshoot applications like Jira, Ansible Tower, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Crowd, etc.) from the command line, so having Customer application support experience working with Industry standard Incident Management Systems is expected. In addition, they are moving towards a more Kubernetes centric environment so having a good background within containerization is a bonus. Someone who is passionate about working with teams to help improve performance and processes in a more efficient manner will do very well in this role. A background in help desk would be a plus.

Responsibilities include:

Work as part of a team to implement DevOps infrastructure projects
Work as a team to implement secure automation solutions for development, testing, and production environments
Work as a team to build and deploy automation, monitoring, and analysis solutions
Work as a team to manage our continuous integration and delivery pipeline to maximize efficiency
Work as a team to implement industry best practices with Agile Fundamentals
Work as a team to scale and manage Linux physical and virtual environments
Work as a team to develop and maintain solutions for operational administration, disaster recovery, and security/performance monitoring
Work as a team to continuously evaluate existing systems with industry standards and make recommendations for improvement

Desired Skills & Experiences:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related experience
3+ years experience supporting User Community and Incident Management
3+ years experience as a Linux administrator or comparable experience using Linux
Strong knowledge of Ansible Tower Automation and Configuration
Expert knowledge of system administration in Linux environments
Expert knowledge of configuration management tools
Expert administrative knowledge of continuous integration tools such as Atlassian suite
Proficiency in scripting languages including Bash and Python
Strong communication and documentation skills
An ability to drive to goals and milestones while valuing and maintaining a strong attention to detail
Excellent judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Full understanding of software development lifecycle best practices
Self-motivated individual that possesses excellent time management and organizational skills

Having one or more of the following is a plus:

Experience with delivery of a SaaS product
Strong understanding of Linux VMs in a Global Production Environment
Knowledge of Azure Dev Ops
