job summary:

One of our Austin clients is looking to add an IBM I Sr Systems Administrator to their growing team

Experience managing the infrastructure for an IBM Power 8 or greater, and maintaining a 5030 SAN, VIOS, and Brocade Switches.

Provide operations support as required. Ability to work flexible work schedules as required. Provide scheduled and emergency (e.g., nights, holidays and weekends) support either on site or remotely as necessary. Ability to be -on call- for and respond on-site for emergency support.

Following experience is required:

Maintaining and troubleshooting IBM i Connectivity on a network

This position will require support of the following regularly occurring activities:

Hardware / Software problem resolution

Daily \ EOM \ EOQ\ EOY Batch Processing

Compliance Log Reviews

Maintaining iSeries Infrastructure

IBM i Connectivity

IBM i Backup Processing

Monitor DASD Cache Batteries

Replication monitoring - Global Mirroring

Hardware /Software Maintenance Renewal

Full System Backups

Restores and Environment refreshes

Maintaining User Profiles across multiple partitions and servers

Operations SLA Responsibility

IBM i Tape Handling / Maintenance, Virtual Tape Libraries

Daily System Performance Monitoring

Daily Job / message monitoring

Preferred:

Robot Report Maintenance

Robot Schedule Maintenance

Robot Save Maintenance

Robot Console / Alert Maintenance

responsibilities:

In this role you will have the ability to provide technical infrastructure support for various systems software including but not limited to: operating system, system utilities, programming languages, database (DDS, DB2 for i , SQL), performance tools, Query, Access Client Solutions, support and maintenance through the application and testing of Technology Refreshes, and PTF software fixes.

qualifications:

Experience level: Experienced
Minimum 5 years of experience
Education: Bachelors

skills:

ISERIES (5 years of experience is required)
IBM (3 years of experience is required)
AS400 (3 years of experience is preferred)
System Administration (5 years of experience is required)
