Software Developer

A well-established manufacturing company located in North Austin is looking for a Software Developer to develop applications. This is a full time position with great benefits. (100% of medical benefits for the employee is paid by the employer) . Other benefits include paid time off, success bonus and 401k. The ideal candidate is someone who learns quickly, is adaptable, enjoys working in a startup/entrepreneurial environment with experience in application development, and languages such as Python, has testing and debugging skills as well as project management and IT skills. This is a new position reporting to the President of the software development and information technology group. Job candidates MUST be authorized to work in the US and not require VISA sponsorship. Job Duties & Responsibilities:Software development:

• Experience with Application Development
• Some experience in coding in any programming language such as Python
• Understand and use basic debugging techniques
• Basic understanding of Software Development processes and principles
• Knowledge of SQL preferred
• Basic understanding of Windows 10 Operating system
• Knowledge of GitHub desired

• Track progress on multiple projects in Software Development and IT areas
• Provide timely status to management on all projects
• Understand and have experience with Agile Development methodologies
• Experience with tools used for project management and build reports to show progress or challenges
• Strong communication and team player skills
• Resolve issues and push for completion of projects on time and on budget
• Document processes and procedures

• Basic knowledgeable in following areas:
• Network infrastructure
• IP Addressing scheme
• VPN, Virtual machines
• TCP/IP and UPD/IP protocols
• Cybersecurity basics
• Provide customer service working with the team in the following areas:
• Resolve issues related to basic aspects of IT infrastructure for all members of the organization, including desktop system/laptop support
• Provide support on customer issues for products that have been deployed at customer sites
• Travel to remote sites to support customer products deployed by our team
• Be available at any time to support the users and infrastructure – emergency situations in off hours
• Working with IT team, preserve assets, information security and control structures
• Identify problematic areas and work with IT team to resolve the issues

• Minimal AA degree, preferably in Computer Science related field
• BS or MS preferred
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
