The successful candidate for this position will have the opportunity to join UTA during an exciting period of growth and contribute as the university broadens its impact.Job SummaryManage Photography Area laboratories (digital printing labs, film processing labs, darkrooms, studios), equipment checkout facility, and assist students working in the labs.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain film processing labs, darkrooms, and studios including equipment such as enlargers, film and print processing equipment (film & paper washers, film & paper dryers, safelights, timers, tanks, reels, etc.).

Prepare chemistry for film processing labs and darkrooms.

Keep chemistry inventory current.

Manage equipment checkout facility (keep equipment inventory current and keep equipment such as cameras, tripods, lighting, etc. in good working condition).

Check equipment out to students; check equipment in; inspect equipment at time of check out and upon return.

Assist students in the digital printing lab, film processing labs, darkrooms, and studio whenever faculty are not available, including weekends and evenings.

Maintain inventory records for digital print lab ink.

Other duties as needed and appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

High School graduation or equivalent with Three (3) years of experience working in photography laboratories (wet labs and digital labs).

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Photography (BA or BFA) with Two (2) years of experience working in photography laboratories (wet labs and digital labs).

One (1) year of photography teaching experience.
